The museum will be developed within an existing 8-storey building located in Bucharest. At the time of the launch of the international competition for the museum, the building was in a state of seismic risk and abandoned. The project adressed the consolidation of the existing vertical structure to the removal of the existing floor slabs in order to create generous museum spaces and bringing the entire exterior envelope up to contemporary energy-comfort standards.
